About Our Program
Mother Earth's Children offers an infant program as well as a separate play-based preschool program. In each program, the environment is set up so that children are encouraged to explore, take risks, be creative and imaginative, and be problem-solvers. We strive to instill values of intrinsic motivation, self-worth, and respect for others as well as for the environment. A relationship-based approach is used, encouraging positive interactions among peers as well as caregivers. We model empathy, compassion, and conflict resolution and encourage children to communicate their needs and feelings to one another in a positive manner.
Our school is certified as an eco-healthy child care program, which means we meet certain criteria in order to protect children from common environmental toxins. We use all-natural non-chemical cleaning solutions in order to provide a safe environment for children.
Other unique aspects of our program include:
· Experiences in yoga as well as the Spanish language
· Fieldtrips that foster a connection with nature & the community
· Toys, materials, and equipment are open-ended in order to foster the development of imagination and creativity in children
· Separate developmentally-appropriate infant and preschool learning environments (maximum capacity of 4 infants and 6 preschoolers)
· Separate indoor play space for children that promotes exploration of the environment as well as a large outdoor play space
